Overview

Along Georgia’s Golden Isles, Jekyll Island offers a rare blend of preserved natural beauty and fascinating American history. Protected as a state park, the island balances wide Atlantic beaches on one shoreline with peaceful marshes, winding tidal creeks, and ancient live oaks draped in Spanish moss on the other. The slower pace and unspoiled landscape create an atmosphere where history and nature exist in remarkable harmony.

This experience includes three nights at a beautifully restored historic hotel, originally built in 1886 as the private winter retreat of prominent Gilded Age families including J.P. Morgan and William Rockefeller. Today, its grand architecture and timeless elegance continue to reflect the island’s storied past.

Just a short walk away, the Georgia Sea Turtle Center offers an intimate look at Georgia’s only sea turtle rehabilitation facility. A behind-the-scenes guided tour introduces the rehabilitation process from rescue through release, with opportunities to visit treatment areas and observe wildlife patients not typically accessible to the public.
